I brought together a team of creative thinkers and makers to produce a self-initiated project rooted in a shared love of food — not just as nourishment, but as culture, memory, and storytelling. Our aim was to explore food from multiple angles, using different creative disciplines to shape a fresh, layered narrative.

We worked across photography, illustration, and written essays, drawing on a variety of perspectives to build something that felt rich, thought-provoking, and visually engaging. I led the overall concept development and creative direction, guiding the look, feel, and tone of the project from start to finish.

The result was Groak, a printed magazine that explores the past, present, and future of food through an unexpected lens. The name Groak comes from an old Scots word meaning “to silently watch someone eating, hoping they'll share” — a quietly emotional concept that perfectly captured the curiosity and craving at the heart of the project.
